What is llms.txt?
llms.txt is a proposed community convention: a markdown file at the site root (https://example.com/llms.txt) that lists curated entry points — docs, examples, policies — so humans and cooperative agents can find high-signal pages quickly.
What it is not

robots.txt— it does not allow or deny crawlers. - Not a search-engine ranking signal and not an “SEO boost”.
- Not a guarantee that ChatGPT, Claude, or any other product will fetch, cite, or prefer your content.
Optional companion
Some sites also publish /llms-full.txt with longer material. Adoption and consumption vary widely; treat both as curation aids, not enforcement.
